Choke Markings "**x"

I have a Savage/Stevens Springfield 67D and I'm wondering what choke it has. I ordered a dial caliber but it isn't here yet.

Am I correct in assuming that "**x" means modified choke?

To be more clear, it definitely isn't "**-", its an actual X(not using x to denote unknown integer).

Thanks in advance.

googled it

"the chokes are marked with an asterisk on the rear left side of the barrel. One for full, two for mod., three for IC."

second confirming statement from another forum:

"1 asterisk would be full choke etc...etc.... so the 4 asterisks would be a cylinder bore which would make sense for a riot barrel."

Thanks. I was assuming that's what it was, the X threw me off as I've never seen that before.
