20ga. youth autoloader

Looking for a 20 gauge youth sized auto shotgun for my wife. Who makes a good one without breaking the bank? The Mossberg SA-20 Bantam is the only one that comes to my mind. Any others that fit this bill better?

Well, for my kids (twenty-five years ago) I got a used 20 gauge 1100 and had the stock shortened for them, and it was quite the little gun. Of course, I don't know what a used 20 gauge 1100 goes for these days. I would say an 1100 with a shortened stock or the Mossberg SA 20 is not a bad little shotgun (that's what I'm hearing anyways)

The 1100 with a youth stock, better gun, IMO
In either case, the gun has to fit her for minimum recoil and maximum enjoyment. LOP is only one item to fit, especially if she has an ample endowment - making sure the recoil pad is located properly in her shoulder pocket is crucial, the cast is correct and the pitch is also

Look for a used 1100 youth also. If you want the lightest gun possible, look for one of the older gloss blued and walnut models. If you get a regular LT20 1100 you can shorten the stock, or get a youth stock, but I think the shorter barrel helps the overall balance.

The SA-20 is a good gun, so is the Remington 1100. Check your local gun shops and see if you can find a good deal.

I'll definitely be on the lookout for a used 1100 youth as well. Can you only get the SA-20 in synthetic? She really likes the look of wood stocks but all the SA-20 bantams I've seen were synthetic

The SA-20 is only available in synthetic, if you want walnut, take a look at the Weatherby SA-08, they're very similar to the SA-20, but available in wood and a youth size.

Took my wife to shoot some sporting clays with me and they had an 1187LT 20 ga that fir her perfect and we easy for her to shoot. When I find the right one I'm going to pick one up.

It might help, if you looked at a Franchi AL-48 - light weight, well-balanced, slim-stocked.

My wife like mine as much as I do - so much that I now have three different 20ga shotguns we can play with.

Used samples are all over the place, for around $400, new is about $650, IIRC - my $1050 Deluxe cost me $20 for the raffle ticket, three years ago. .
