This thread is starting to remind me of why it isn't smart to wrestle with a pig. You'll just get muddy and the pig will probably enjoy it.

Whoops. Sorry about that...posts like these could get this thread closed. I will try my best to restrain myself in the face of...well you know.

I frequently hear stories about poachers killing deer with a 22LR. While I doubt that they are very worried about humane kills I am sure that the 22LR is able to do the job or they would pick some thing else.

If a 22LR can kill a deer I am sure a 22 Hornet is able.

Handgun hunters and bowhunters (they even get a special season) challenge themselves every time they hunt.

So do guys who hunt with .22 Hornets. Good luck in your quest.

Poachers are very much worried about a quick kill. Chasing illegal animals through the woods is bad juju.

Right between the eyes, deader than dead. Bang, flop.

I wont hunt them with a 223. I would be darned if I would use the hornet.
The hornet is great for rabbits and chucks.

Using the same rationale (none offered), it should not be used on rabbits and chucks either.

Since this has pretty much degenerated into the same sort of thread that .223 vs. Bambi commonly gets to, let's let the poor ol' hoss expire gracefully.
