.44 mag: deer/hog loads

Picking up my ruger super blackhawk tomorrow. I need a good round for both deer and hog, any suggestions? Also, to scope or not to scope? Then it is practice, practice, practice, for me.

I have had very good luck using Hornadys 240gr XTP on top of 24gr W296, using a CCI mag primers, lee factory crimp. The Hornady XTP is a very affective bullet and very accurate in my SRH 44 mag. Aim small hit small. RAMbo.
