AR 15 SBR questions
I have a couple (or so) questions before I start my SBR paperwork for an AR15 build I am going to do--
1) Am I ok using a lower marked "Pistol for an SBR? 2) Am I ok once the approval from the ATF is back to me, to put any length upper on the build at any time? Ie change from a 7.5 to an 11.5 barrel on the same receiver? I was told I could use the pistol receiver-- so if I can, I will probably build a pistol then SBR it if it is legal to do. I also was told, I could not change uppers, but this doesn't make sense, as the firearm is the marked part-- ie receiver.. Any help or advice shot my way is greatly appreciated! |

1. Yes, you can use any to make an SBR.
2. Once you get your gun engraved, and you get your canceled tax stamp back you can interchange barrel lengths at will. |

The only thing you CAN'T do is make it back into a "pistol."

Does that mean--
A pistol can become a rifle (or SBR) depending on the OAL and BL, but once it is a rifle, it is always a rifle and must adhere to barrel and overall lengths?

Unless it's a SBR.
