Has anyone looked into overturning the '86 ban on new automatics?

By what process? I doubt if we can make much progress legislatively without either a major change in the make-up of congress and the white house, or a major pro-2nd ruling by the SC.

Probably less chance in the courts. Maybe IF the SC ruled that the Second Amendment means what it says, and maybe if they struck down all gun laws, and maybe... Let's keep dreaming.

Ah, to overturn poor legislation...the source of dreams. Even the NRA isn't willing to touch the issue of full automatic firearms. Shucks, we can't even get the ban on high capacity magazines lifted. What a sorry state of affairs we're in.
