How to rifle a BP pistol?

blackpowder pistol...can it be rifled on a lathe? Or is the traditional cutter necessary?
Any input appreciated

Madmike, get a copy of Barrels and Actions from Brownells. www.brownells.com. It shows how to build a simple rifling "machine". George

This is a video from Guy Lautard on building a barrel rifling machine. I don't know how practical it is. Perhaps someone here has looked it over?
