I would guess about $450 without the scope...

Why do they go down so much in value? A new one is about $700 and a Luepold is $300. My neighbor let me try it out today. With Hornady v-max 55gr, it grouped about 2'' at 100 when the wind was calm. Thats off a plastic picnic table and bipod.

Alot is going to depend on what barrel profile the mini has. If its the older profile its all one size from the gas block forward. If its the newer barrel it will be thicker at the gas block and thinner as you go towards the muzzle. I have a 580 series with the thin profile barrel and it shoots near MOA with my handloads at 100yrds. Its also had a few modifications. I think the thicker profile barrel version would be more popular and slightly more accurate in general.

If its mine. In like new shape. $650 for rifle and scope, give or take. $500 for rifle only, give or take. Remember, these are the better mini's after the shut down and retool of the mini plant. They are better rifles than the older versions.

It is the older style barrel, but I think it shoots good for a semi auto. I ran 20 more of the Rem/UMC cheap ammo through it before it got dark. The mini did not like it as well as the Hornady. The groups opened up to 3.5 at 100. It needs a better trigger. I can tell I am moving around because of the hard pull. He wants $700 for it or trade for my 2003 model S&W 1911. I have not had much luck finding a good used one. Local GS's want a new price for worn rifles.

you can add an accu-strut and it helps with the muzzle whip

I think the group size has more to do with me and the trigger than the barrel.

On gunbroker that gun is going for about $500-$525. So really it is what you think the scope is worth after that.

Barstoolguru is correct. The accustrut and similar stabilizing products for the barrel has made huge improvents in the accuracy of the mini once the barrel heats up. Mine no longer strings shots vertically plus it works well as a heat sink too. Cools your barrel down faster.

I bought it today for $700. He sweetened the pot with a Harris bipod. It is like new, less than 100 through it. If a new one is $647+tax, $300 Leupold scope and $100 Harris, $700 sounds good to me and I know where it came from. THANKS for the help.

Get your trigger job here: Contact them, mail the trigger group, they take it to 31/2 pounds and ship right back to you. Excellent!

http://www.greatwestgunsmithing.com/mini14.htm they do quite a bit of Mini-14 work and get rave reviews from people who have had work done. Bed the action and have the trigger work done and you should see groups shrink add a strut to minimize barrel whip and you should have a great shooter. Enjoy the rifle they are a lot of fun but you can go through ammo pretty quick with one.
