I am trying to essentially figure out how many "pounds" a .45 caliber 230 grain bullet weighs. Of course, it will only weigh a fraction of a pound.

My approach is to figure out how many grains are in a pound, then use that conversion figure.

Hence the question, stated in the title.

thanks!
thaddeus

ps- You might ask why I want to know this. Well, I wll reveal that after I have my answer!

1 Avoirdupois Ounces = 437.5 Grains

therefore

230 Grains = 0.03286 Avoirdupois Pounds

try out http://www.megaconverter.com/index.html
for unit conversions.

There are 7000gr per lb. There are 16 oz per lb. This figures that an ounce equals 437.5 grains. Jerry
