357 magnum rifle load data
I am having a real hard time finding rifle load data for 357 magnum.
Don't see much here and powder manufactures do not seem to have much. What is a good manual(s) or another good source? Thanks |

Hornady, Lyman (both the 49th and their Cast Bullet Hndbk) & Sierra all have 357 rifle sections -- the biggest real difference being the use of slower-burning powders.

I load my Marlin '94 in 357 with the same 357 loads I use for my pistol.

Is the OP loading for a Marlin w/ microgroove rifling? If so, full throttle loads with slow powders will likely result in poor accuracy due to bullet stripping when using cast or especially swaged lead bullets.
Just something to think about. That said, all you need to do is use pistol data...the slower the powder used, the greater the velocity increase will be as a general rule. "Rifle Specific" data tends to favor the med.-slow to slow powders. |

I'd recommend Unique or Trailboss with pistol loads. If you switch to jacketed bullets 296, 110 or 2400. Your velocities will be a bit higher than with a handgun.

The same loads that shoot well outta my revolvers also shoot very well outta my carbines. This is in both .357 and .44 mag. Only difference in most manuals from rifle loads and revolver loads is that light loads using fast powders are generally not used in the rifles. I tend to stick with loads that chrono above 850fps outta my revolvers for use in my carbines to avoid the risk of stickin' a bullet.
