44 SPL Brass length
I recently picked up some 44 spl brass at a local gun show and was checking the length and found that at least 2 dozen were 1.145 to 1.150 inches long, instead of the normal 1.160.
Should I use them or put in scrap bucket? |

I'd use them. The trim to length is 1.150. The ones at 1.140, I'd load as light plinkers.

I'll be happy to pay shipping to get those dangerously short pieces of brass out of your way.

Which head stamp? I have found that W-W .44 Spl. brass has frequently had dimension problems (usually the rim thickness). I avoid W-W brass in .44 Spl.

What howlnmad said. Especially if they're being shot in a 44 Mag, there's no real problem.

You'll like the 44Spl round MakarovFan. It is an inherently accurate cartridge - even with your case length variations.
Load 240g SWC's with a medium speed powder (HS-6, AA5, Unique) and you're good to go.
