M&P 15 Sport (California version)
Wondering what others think about the M&P 15 Sport, CA version (10 round, fixed stock, no suppressor).
It's cheaper than the 30 round, adjustable stock, suppressor standard version. Would you save and buy the standard? I don't live in CA. This would be my first AR. Thanks. |

Don't buy the cali version. At least not if you don't have to.
And BTW Smith and Wesson dosen't sell suppresors or any guns with suppressors. Many of their guns do have threaded barrels so you could add one later but they don't come with one. |

I think he was referring to the flash supressor.

I see no reason to buy the compliant version unless you plan to move to CA or you expect their plague to spread to free states.

The Sport is cheap enough as it is! I would not get a compliant version unless I was in a compliant state. Even if you don't think you'll ever sell it, if you do, it will be difficult in states that don't require compliance.
Also, I'm 6' and I can't ever remember firing my AR with a fully extended stock. |

Appreciate the prompt replies.
I'm in MD... not sure if it is a free state, but at least it's not California (yet). Looks like I'll wait for the standard version. Thanks. |

Wise choice
Yeah buddy, take it from a Kommifornia native here...you DEFINITELY want none what we have going on here. Certainly not if you have an alternative. Best of luck with your new toy when you get it!

I almost bought a M&P15T cali version a month ago because it was $300 cheaper than the standard version. Drill out that stupid bullet thingy, put in a real part and fire away. That was my plan anyway but when I went to order it someone beat me to it.... Such is life I suppose.

Not cheap enough that you can mess with it and make it how you want it. Maybe $100 cheaper I'd buy one.
