M4 strap suggestions?
I just got a Daniel Defense and I need a strap! Suggestions? Sources would be great too.

The best set-ups for your "main ax"...
If your patrol rifle/firearm is meant for duty or defense, I'd suggest these resources;

After several trips to the sandboxes, I am still using the Mark 1, Mod 1 GI issue sling. It does everything well, not as perfect as a "purpose-designed" one, but it works for everything. If you are like me, and favor utility over 'gee-whizz,' there is nothing wrong with the GI issue sling. I have rigged it as a one-point, two-point, three-point (thank you 550 cord), a hasty and a loop sling. It is durable, easy to take care of, and works.

The vickers is a little more than I want to spend on a sling, I was thinking $30-40 as opposed to ~$70

Try an Army/Navy store. I've seen GI slings at "Saigon Sam's" before.

Larry Vickers; slings, M4s....
Larry Vickers is a retired US Army spec ops soldier(CAG/Delta Force/SFOD-Delta). He is also a well known pistolsmith(1911a1 .45acp).
His tactical rifle sling is a tad pricey but I like the pad type design. Im not a huge fan of bungee or elastic anything on a weapon. Tropic or humid environments with high temps seem to warp/wear out these materials quickly. As I stated, if speed/tactical applications are a main concern, look for a rig you can draw quickly or switch firing hands with rapidly. If you just want a basic rifle sling or something milspec that shouldn't be difficult to buy either. Clyde |
