Coyote hunting w/Savage 24F
Guys, Im planning my 1st Coyote hunt in a few weeks here in NC. I thought I would try my Savage 24F 30-30 over 12ga. I'm thinking that where I'm planning on going, I wont have any shots longer than 200yds. Any suggestions on a 30-30 factory load to use. My 24F will group around 1" at 100yds with loads it likes.

well a 30-30 will do quite a bit of damage no matter what round you throw into a yote. Use what you know it likes. IMO if you want to save pelts get a different caliber

My go to gun for called in coyotes is a Savage model 24F in .22 Hornet over 20 gauge. I use number four buckshot in the shotgun barrel. The gun has a Zeiss 4X32 scope.

You might try Hornady LeveRevolution for a 200 yd factory load. One of my hunting buddies uses that ammo in a 12" 30-30 Contender and has taken deer and hogs. His longest shot was 183 yds, and the deer took 2 steps then went down.
