Deflector for fast draw
Does anyone know where I can get a deflector added to my holster for Cowboy Fast Draw?

Ya mean like them steel plates the allies bolted to their aero plane props before they found out about Fokkers disconect in the Great War?...Kinda hard on bystanders!
Maybe you could use a laser disconect to prevent accidents! |

What? I mean the angled piece of metal that attaches to the end of the holster to prevent you from shooting yourself in the foot (fast draw/wax bullets).

Here's a couple of outfits that have some. I found them by doing a Google search for "holster deflector plate", and there's probably more outfits.

Thanks for the leads. I'll give them a call as I already have the holster and just need the deflector. I called the guy who made my holster and he gave me some tips on how to make my own deflector. I've seen the holsters with the deflector, but I have yet to find just the deflectors.

My fault for not realizing that you only need the deflector plate.
Here's another holster maker that's on eBay that will add a removable leather covered deflector plate to his holsters for speed draw. So he must have them available. He says to contact him about the price to add one on but don't know if will he sell one to you separately or will add it on to an existing holster for you. Try asking him. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Reddog-Leath...-/260922577318 Quote:

Fast Draw?
If I were younger and lived in America I might be tempted to have a go. I think it never really happened for real very often. However, great fun, but with REAL BULLETS. I would do the Wyatt Earp thing. DRAW AS FAST AS YOU CAN WITHOUT GETTING IN A TANGLE AIM AND MAKE SURE YOUR FIRST ROUND HITS WHAT YOU ARE SHOOTING AT.

it is a lot of fun.
but unfortunatly, it is a bit like ipsc. if you don't spend the money on the modded gear, you cannot win. for instance, using a stock holster and stock ruger vaquaro, my draw and shoot times were .6 seconds. aimed was .7 seconds. fastest times were in the .33 second range. BUT they miss a lot. So much so that sometimes they empty the gun and never hit. Which adds 2 seconds to your time. I did the math and found that if I had aimed each shot, I would have placed high enough to win back my entry money. But that still isn't good enough to win. My first match, I broke the vaquaro due to over spin on the cylinder. an old guy loaned me his spare. It was so light, I thought I was holding a cap gun. I know the cylinder was aluminum, not sure about the rest. Changed it out to the steel one for blanks. |

Bullet Deflector
There is a nice bullet deflector on ebay. Type in bullet deflector in the ebay search or search the seller 814kish81.

The eBay version looks like one of those modified burger flippers.
