Marlin 60 scope

Hi all, was hoping I could get a little input on a best bang for the buck scope for my Marlin 60. Not looking for the best, just something that works. Thanks, Darrin.

Not sure if you have any preference or not, but I put a $40 tasco 3-9x40 on mine when I was a kid, never had one problem with it. I still have the scope and it's been on several different guns. I know most people won't even consider a tasco but I've never had a problem and I've owned two or three. Just my .02. Good luck!

Sightron sells a 3-9x40 for less than $100 on optics planet and they run coupons and deals frequently. That'd be my top choice.

If it is just for squirrels and paper @ 50 yards , a Weaver rimfire or if that is out of your budget a Simmons 22 mag. scope .

I use this Leupold on my rimfire rifles. I have one on a Glenfield 60 and its perfect for squirrel and target shooting.

I realize that the scope is worth more than the rifle but if your gonna hand your guns down like I am its worth the lifetime warranty

Edit; On my grooved receiver rimfires I use the UTG air gun mount. It will hold that scope tight! no slippage!

i just put a simmons 22 mag on a marlin 25. for 50 yard shots its a bargan at 49.00. the free rings you get with it our junk just by your own. on a dovetail setup i usually go burris or leopald well worth the money and no slipping.

Weaver classic rimfire 3-9X32 AO. There is also a 2-7 version which is a little more handy. Very well made scopes and have excellent clarity.

Thank you all for your input, I do appreciate it. I went with the Simmons 22 mag. Amazon had it for $37.00, seemed like a decent value.

I have Tasco 4x fixed scope on my Marlin 795. I have never felt the need for more magnification than that on a .22. I payed $30 for it at Dick's.

We're living in good times.
It's actually hard to find bad optics these days.
Even low priced ones are pretty good, Tasco included.
I agree that 4X is plenty for .22s, or anything else, at the distance most of us will use it.

I have a 25.00 Burris fixed 4 power on mine. It does all I need a .22 scope to do. It's clear, keeps zero and puts all the bullets where they're supposed to go as long as I do my part.

Trijicon Accupoint 1.25-4x24 with 1" tube. You have to find it used, as discontinued it and switched to a 1-4x24 with 30mm tube.

It works, and it's not the "best" - US optics or Schmidt and Bender is.

I've had 4 of the Simmons 22MAG series scopes. A 4x, two 3-9x, and a 3-9x Adjustable Objective. All have been clear, reliable, and durable.

I have a Marlin 795 that my buddy and I challenge each other to see how many primers we can shoot out of 12 gauge shells, prone position, at 50 yards and we can do it pretty regularly with good target ammo.

It's got the 3-9x mounted with a Leapers airgun scope mount. The scope will walk on the rail if you try to use the included rings.

Great choice. I put one on my Ruger 10-22 Takedown when I bought it. Mounted in QD rings for easy take down, and storage in the provided pack. After sighting in with CCI Standard Velocity ammo I shot a 10 round group @50 yds I could cover with my thumbnail. Then, to attest to both the gun, and the scope, I took the scope off, broke the rifle down, reassembled it, and filled the same 3/4" ragged hole with ten more rounds.

Good to hear. Like so many of us, I have been to busy to get to the range but I did mount the scope. From what I understand the rings that come with the scope are junk but I used them anyway, figure if they do not work out ill just get higher quality ones. If I make it to the range soon I will post how it worked out for me. Thanks again for everyones input.

Just FYI. When I used the included rings on my 795 the walked back and scratched paint off of the tip-off rail.

This solves the problem.

(Simmons .22 Mag Scope 4XPower)

Looks good on the rifle - doesn't it?
(Shoots good too)

I don't know where my mind was at when I said mine was a Burris. Its not, its a Bushnell. A great scope for the money.
