Barnes/DPX Question
I don't have much experience with these bullets. Is there any reason to believe they would be any more likely to Jam or misfeed than other hollowpoint designs? I have only shot maybe 50 rounds total. It just seems with the extra OAL and the massive cavity it might present some issues. I noticed That Barnes is now loading thier own ammo and are putting some type of proprietary coating on the bullet. They must think the coating is necessary. I have stuff from Black hills and Corbon loaded with these bullets without the Coating. What do you guys think?

The Barnes/DPX is great stuff from 'chucks to large deer it's performed very well for me.For carry it's one of the very best.Yes it's expensive so for practice you might use something else.
My autos are HK P7s which are some of the most reliable feeders made so no surprise tha they've never jammed on anything !!

DPX has shown consistent and reliable expansion in all calibers, regardless of medium penetrated. Amazing stuff.
I have tried the Barnes-loaded stuff, but will if I find it. I have used the Cor-Bon branded DPX ammo in my LCP, my Kahr PM9, my Kahr P45, my Kahr PM45, several 1911s, and my S&W M25 (.45LC). If I find any in .357 Mag, .41 Mag or 10mm, I will buy that too. Quote:

Yes, I too have carried and used Corbon DPX since 2009. Never an issue and they're amazing.
I have them in my 9mm's and .357's. Used to carry them a lot in my .40's when I used to love .40 Great round. Buy them O_O |
