168 SMK
43.0 Grains IMR4064
CCI BR-2 Primers
C.O.A.L 2.800

Rifles differ of course but this load was suggested to me as one of the best and did not disappoint. Sub MOA in my rifle.

Was useing a hotter load for 200 yard shooting 42.5 IMR 4064 168 gr. Sierra HPBT, found 40.5 just the same if not better. Shooting benchrest we seem to fine tune & try different settings. Have been using the Hornady comparators to check OAL to ogive & headspace, ordered the RCBS Precision Mic to try that. Doesn't seem to end, always a new toy to play with.

targets at 100-200 yrds

You are shooting short ranges,is it because your rifle is 1:10 ratio ?
I shoot .223 and 6x284,an I have found that shooting that distance you need to
Use lighter bullets, with that particular barrel.Shooting farther targets I like to use
1:9 twist because I can go to heavier bullets.I use bthp for everything, just adjust
The weights according to target distance,1:10s are designed for short range my opinion.

I have found that Federal 210M match primers get results just a bit better than with Winchesters, CCI or Federal 210 primers with my .308 Savages.

With my model 10 LE 308s, the following loads have produced the best results:

Model 10 FCP-K -
1) Berger Flat Based Target 150 grain bullets with 42.6 grains of N140 powder and 210M primers at 2.800 OAL

Model 10 FP - This is an older rifle with a new Savage target barrel
1) SMK 150 grain with 41.8 grains of N140 with 210M primers at 2.805 OAL.
2) Berger FB 150 were second best using 43.9 grains of N140 with 210M primers at 2785 OAL.

akinswi,

Cabellas used to have an "order online, pick up in the store" option which let you avoid the hazmat fees.

Jimro, thats what I was getting at, I order stuff all the time from cabela's and ship it to local store to avoid shipping costs. But I tried to ship an order of powder and primers and they were like nope you can't ship that to the store. Either that or im doing something wrong?
