horizontal mag carrier?
Anybody make one?
Why not? Wear it in front of the hip, support side, bullets down and forward, pull back to clear the carrier. I'm thinking Lou's Talon would be perfect for this. The benefit is - of course - not having that mag jamming in your ribs! And it would conceal very nicely I bet. Somebody make one and I'll test-drive it for you no charge!

Never seen one for CCW use but wore and preferred it for uniform duty, just for the reason you cited: easy on the ribs. Mags placed with bullets up and toward your centerline to facilitate proper grip when withdrawing them.

I have seen a few for concealed carry.
Safariland Model 123 If I find any others, I'll post them. K.

Sidearmor makes one you can wear in multiple positions, including horizontal.

SKS, bullets up, really?
I'm thinking palm up, pull back, index across the fron of the mag, i.e., bullets down. Is it easier to pull palm down? -and thanks Kobun.

If you're interested, G-CODE makes an excellent kydex single that can be worn a number of different ways both OWB and IWB. Here's a pic and link for more info:
