Browning BPS Field Model 28
Hi all. I just acquired this BPS in 12ga on Saturday and have a couple of questions about it.
Serial number 21531FMxxx. Not finding date codes for it on the web. Barrel says "Invector BPS Special Steel" not Invector Plus. I am assuming it takes standard choke tubes? One from my Mossberg fits it. Can I shoot steel? I am getting the feeling it is older. The finish is not really blued, but a light 'parkerize' very similar to the finish on the slide of my Buckmark .22. I kind of like it. Matte Blue? I love the balance and feel of it and the raised vent rib lines of it fit perfectly for me. I expect my dove count to increase! I doubt is has had many rounds through it at all. There are a couple of light scuffs of the finish probably from the racks in the LGS is my bet. Just scratches on the clear coat. How would you deal with these? Thank you Last edited by baddarryl; January 13, 2015 at 08:46 AM. |

I just ordered a BPS Trap Gun, should get here in a couple of days but being in CA I have to wait 10 before I can pick it up.

Wow, glad I never moved to San Diego. Almost did once. Enjoy that BPS!

Yeah one of the reasons we have looked at AZ if it gets much worse may make that move.

AZ is amazing to me. Being an east coaster it is just so different. Have been all over it though. I would consider it too.
