Tanfoglio now part of IFG?

Perhaps I'm late to the party, but I didn't realize that Tafoglio was bought out or merged into a larger firearms company, Italian Firearms Group. The Witness Stock pistols seem to be now advertised as made by IFG, not Tanfoglio.

I just found this kind of interesting - don't know what others may know about this - curious.

I'm a Witness fan. Didn't know that. Thanks for posting.

Wonder if they'll still honor their life time warranty to past buyers ?

The Italian Firearms Group is an importer, not a manufacturer. Tanfoglio still makes the Witness pistols. IFG has no more to do with making Witnesses than EAA does. I've heard that the principals at EAA are also part of IFG. I don't know that for sure though.

IFG is a loose organization of Italian manufacturers formed to import their products in the US.
Each company retains its own ownership.

Thanks Denis. I thought EAA was the importer of Tanfoglio products into the US. Is IFG something more in the nature of a trade union or cooperative?

I don't know what precise term would fit.

Earlier this year I was dealing with Pedersoli on a Kodiak double rifle sample. I got emails from IFG in arranging it, and EAA was the actual importer that sent me the gun.
Not entirely clear, but it appears the organization is using EAA as the group importer for IFG members.
