What have you been shooting latley?

Just for fun what gun/cartridge/load have you all been shooting latley? As for myself I've been shooting my Uberti 58 Rem with 30grs and my Rem Spartan 220 with 70grs and 1 ounce. A couple of fine Remingtons that are in no way Remingtons.

Taurus Gaucho .45 and Ruger New Vaquero .45. 200 gr. hard-cast swc over 8.2 grains Unique. A pretty nice-shooting standard velocity load. It's shooting lower than factory cowboy loads- I think I've got significantly higher velocity here.

Shootin' triple seven, really like it !

Howdy,

Got a couple .44 Piettas w/ 5 1/2 barrels. One a 1860 Army and the other a 1858 Remmie. Quit using Pyrodex 30 Gr.pellets and switched to 28Gr. Triple Seven. Like it a lot.

I fired six full cylinders with the 1860 at the range yesterday with only a little wipe-down now and then. I was using #11 Remington caps on Treso nipples. No problems or tie-ups or misfires.

Could have shot longer but I ran out of powder in my flask !

Clean-up was super easy, accuracy was good, recoil was about the same as .45 Colt Ultamax "cowboy" loads using conversion cylinders. The point of impact was maybe a little lower than the cartridge loads. I was using Hornady .454 round balls. Had one minor cap-jam on the 1860 when the cap stuck to the hammer nose. Easily cleared by turning the piece sideways and flicking it off with my finger.

Never liked Pyrodex. The clean-up was a b*tch and the nasty smell made me choke and set off my allergys. Hard to shoot when yer sneezin' !

I know 777 is hotter than the other subs but the 28Gr. spout on my flask seems to be a pretty good load. I was using "Wonder Wads" between powder and ball.

Cheers,
