Question on gun part...

I realize this is a reloading forum but most everybody on here knows a great deal about guns. I think I repaired the rear sight on my model 29 44mag but if not I'm going to order one from brownells. They show that my gun will take a .160 inch or .126 inch rear sight. Does anyone know what they are referring to with the sizes? They don't list one for my gun by barrel length like they do some of the others. It is 8/38 long. Thanks in advance for any replies, FullCry

The # are referring to blade height. I don't have a reference to know which one you need, but a more knowledgeable member will hopefully 'be along shortly'.

S&W offers parts for the sight, if a part will provide a solution to your problem.

I am just thinking to save $$.

Thanks fellas, If I didn't repair it--which I think I did- then the whole sight assy from Brownells would be fifty two dollars plus shipping. This is a S&W part to. Any way I have it fixed or I will have to order one....thanks again, FullCry

Bobelk99 if it doesn't work after I worked on it then I would need the elevation screw but I haven't seen it listed on Brownells. Thanks

Above link is to S&W parts lists. Select Pistol and Model and see full list.
