I ran across a Winchester 1300,12 GA., 18", 5 shot pump that is stamped "Made in Japan". The gun is about 10 years old. Anybody know anything about this? I didn't know Winchester made any guns in Japan. Will it accept anything other than a 2 3/4" shell, magnums, etc?

Several well known firearms companies have/had firearms made in Japan. It's simply a matter of economics for the company. Many of these companies contracted out to Mikuro.

Winchester and Browning are owned by the same
people but runned as two seperate identities. Most of the Browning and Winchester products are contracted by Miroku of Japan. Both browning and Winchester are owned by GIAT of France, Winchester was bought by GIAT in 1992. |

Thanks DorGunR. Was trying to remember the name from memory (what's left of it). No offense taken.
