My first firearm is a 12ga 870 express I bought after I turned 18 for bird hunting. I am planning my first handgun purchase later this month.

My first firearm was actually a total of 15 firearms that my grandfather left me. Including an M1 Garand, Type 99 Arisaka, Winchester Model 64, and Remington 870 Wingmaster. It's quite a variety and every one is older than I am.

I'm ashamed to say that on my 18th birthday I walked into the LGS and plunked down $109 plus tax for a Universal M1 Carbine...

Had it for years, it never failed to go BANG, and traded it off for something I no longer even remember.

Vietnam and Korea. Five of them are .22s and there are a few shotguns around 100 years old. Also a Voere Titan II in 30-06. Quite a few of them have been passed down, one .22 was my dad's and the Winchester was my great grandfather's hunting rifle.

When I was 13 I bought a second hand bolt action 20 guage, Mossberg I think.
When I was 14 I bought a second hand 30-30 lever, Western Auto of all names, not sure who the actual manufacturer was.

I grew up in a home where my dad would buy guns and let me use them but would never buy a gun and give it to me, I had to earn the money myself. When I was about 12 I had mowed lawns all summer and did odd jobs until I had enough money for the gun I wanted. Once I had the money my dad bought the gun for me, a Ruger GP100 6" Stainless and 15 years later I've still got it!

First was a bb gun, then an air rifle.

First rimfire rifle was a Henry .22 lever action, H001 model. Got it around the age of 10. Still have it more than a decade later. Still gets used regularly shooting chipmunks and squirrels in the yard.

First rifle I bought myself was a Savage 93r17. After that I bought a Marlin 917v and it was so much more accurate than the Savage that traded the Savage for credit towards a Taurus Tracker .17 HMR.

My first gun was an H&R .410 single shot shotgun with the breakdown lever on the right hand side of the receiver. I let my uncle have it when he was having troubles with dogs chasing horses at his stables. My first handgun is a 6" Colt Python that I still have.

My first firearm was a Ruger 10/22 I got as a Christmas gift in 6th or 7th grade. Didn't go all-out on modifying it like some do, just kept it simple and put a 3-9x scope on it, been using it down some tree vermin ever since. The 10/22 always gets my vote when somebody asks me my opinion for the first gun they should get for their son or daughter.

Daisy BB gun. Model 25 I think it was. It cocked with a slide.

My first real gun was a J.C.Higgins 410 single shot that my Dad bought. He came home one day with two of them. One for my Brother and one for me.

My first was a Crossman 760 BB/pellet rifle. Then a Glock 22. I grew up in a family that never touched guns of any kind. The Crossman was hidden in a secret location out in the woods for me and my friends to use whenever we got together after school or on weekends. I loved that 10 pumper.

My first .22 rifle, the Gelnfield Model 25.

Savage .410 single shot, first shotgun and a H&R Model 9-- something (Forgot) was my first .22 pistol.

Yeap, I was very deadly with each one as a teenager....

1st "firearm" was a Benjamin .177 pellet pistol.
1st "real firearm" was an unknown make single shot .22LR rifle, followed closely by an unknown make single shot 20ga shotgun. I still have the shotgun at my parent's place in Texas. I plan on picking it up one of these days.
First handgun was a 1976 Ruger Mark 1 (Centennial edition). This one is currently in my safe.

My Dad got me a Marlin 81DL for my 10th Christmas (68 years ago). I still have it, I still shoot it every year and everytime I see it, touch it, shoot it, clean it I think of my Dad and what a loving and wonderful man he was. I learned to shoot at his knee, I learned what was right, what was wrong, that your word is your bond, that a reputation as a good, honest man will always serve you well. Thanks, Pop! I sure miss you!

I still have it, and it's still just as good a shooter as the day I bought it.

The picture makes it look blued, but it's actually stainless steel.
