My old 870 20ga won't feed the last shell out of the magazine on the first try. It almost always comes out on the second pump. I've tried working the action slow, fast, soft, hard, it doesn't make a difference. It's not my HD shotgun so it's just an annnoyance more than anything. Does anyone have any ideas?
(I scrubbed and lubed it before I posted)

My guess is either the spring or the shell stop is worn. Try a new spring(not a bad idea anyway) and if that doesn't work get a good smith to take a look.

My guess is that a good cleaning is in order. Make sure that you thoroughly clean out the areas where the shell stops rest and the shell stops themselves. Oil them REALLY lightly and put them back in. Cleaning out the magazine tube thoroughly is also a good idea. This will most likely cure any problems you have. If not, them it's time for a gunsmith.
