Interesting interview with Chris Costa about the 870 and it's use
I'm a fan of Chris Costa as an instructor; I don't agree with 100% of everything he says in the interview below but it's a good read for those considering a 'tactical' use of a shotgun.

I certainly take no issue with this guy, other than to note that not everyone has the same defensive plans. He talks about a hand gun for clearing a home, but some feel it best to hole up in a defensive position and wait for police. As for needing to pick up youngsters with one hand and shoot with the other, not all have small children.

Agreed. I'm not moving unless my family members are not with me. Setting up a good ambush hide is the 'best defense' in any type of home defense situation IMO. In MOUT operations, many times the first to move is the first to die.
