Filling Powder Measure ?

What's the right way to fill powder measure? I watch a video on you tube that showed filling a measure the check then check for the weight.
I fill the measure on my shotgun loader to the top and then tap on the plastic side with the handle of a paint brush till all the powder is settle. Is this the right way to do it? I also notice that the bushings # dosen't match what they show it should drop.

Level full, no settling.

if you tap on the measure you will compact the powder which will again come loose as you drain powder from it. As measures are volume devices this will lead to an inconsistent charge. you want to maintain as consistent density as possible. I refill after the measure is 1/2 full and again run a few charges to get things settled. Most measures have some sort of baffle system to aid in this. In my Lee perfect powder measure I added a RCBS powder baffle. it's not a perfect fit I had to tweak it some.

I wouldn't tap it to get it to settle ( on shotgun or metallic loaders ). I just use a wide mouth funnel and fill the powder measure as it gets down to about 25% full.

I use Mec shotgun loaders / Dillon metallic loader - and the only problem I have is keeping the static electricity under control especially on a new powder hopper. I put the anti static "clothes dryer sheets" inside the factory powder storage cannister / wipe the outside of the factory container with the anti static sheets / when empty wipe the inside and outside of the powder storage hopper on the press with the dryer sheets. If you see any grains of powder clinging to the sides of the powder hopper / wipe everything down again.

I use the Mec powder baffle on all of my MEC 9000 HN's / and the Dillon measures have their own baffle system.
