Doe over the weekend

I shot this doe at 30 yards with a .44magnum Super Blackhawk. This is my second doe with this pistol. What was weird was that she ran about 100 yards and there was no blood until she dropped. Shot right through the heart.

Good shot, nice doe. Congratulations. I have had deer react the same way with some rifles shots also.

Nice doe, and I like your revolver, too. Good shot.

Sometimes they just bleed into the body cavity and not out of the body.

Good job finding her after she ran, too! Glad things worked out.

Hey guys, thanks for the compliments. She did bleed alot inside the cavity. I was shooting 270gr Gold Dots and I sure didn't expect her to run, especially with no blood on the ground.

I had to show alot of restraint on this hunt. I was a guest of a co-worker on his family ranch. When I shot this doe, there was about a 125-135 class 8 point eating corn. The closest he was to me was about 8 yards. There were multiple opprotunities to shoot him. But that's the way it goes sometimes...

You killed Bambi!

Nice shot! Hey, how did you track it if there was no blood? Was this on the open plains or something?

The area around the feeder was plowed and fairly open. After I shot I watched where she ran into the brush. I waited a while and walked out to where I had shot her. I didn't see any blood so I walked to the brush where she had went in and there was a fairly major game trail. I walked down the game trail and she was laying about 50 yards in. There was a ton of blood where she was laying but I never found a drop between where she started and ended up.

Ive had that happen twice this year. No blood hardly at all. They dropped just out of sight.
