SKS Stock

I bought an SKS from one of my inlaws the other day and while the gun itself is in fine condition, the stock has been painted with a thick coat of gloss black paint. Anybody know how I can get the paint off without ruining the original finish? Or is it even possible?

Mesa, the only thing I know to use would be a paint stripper. I believe you'll remove some of the old finish but it's can be easily refinished. George

If you decide to strip it, use Bix Stripper. This stuff work's great, let the stripper do it's job as the directions say and you'll have very little work to do. Good luck
