I have some 1911 mags that my dad gave me. They had been stored in his web gear for years. I was wondering if anyone knows when they were made or who made them?
The have markings on the bottom of each mag 19200- ASSY 5508694 MFR. 1M291 Just kind of interested where they came from. Dad doesn't remember when he was issued them. |

# Company Name Address City State Zip Code Phone E-Mail
1 CHECK MATE INDUSTRIES INC 777 MOUNT AVE WYANDANCH NY 11798-4496 631-491-1777 ------------------------------------------------------ I got this by going through ACALA-TACOM site to... http://pro-net.sba.gov/pro-net/search.html and entering the cage code (1M291) in the appropriate space, way down toward the bottom of the page where you can search for specific contractor. Fun site........lots of tank n airplane and small arms stuff. Sam |

IIRC, those are 1970's Vietnam era contract magazines. I once knew who made them, but I am blank on it now. They are OK.

Thanks guys. Hard to believe the old man carried them around in Vietnam, but odds are he did. Heck I have the 1911 flap holster he used over there.
