Trying to get a Wilson Combat AR in MA
I'm told they can't sell to people in MA (I assume they don't make an MA compliant model). Does anyone have any experience with solving this sort of thing?
Could I buy the gun, get it shipped to a dealer/gunsmith in NH, have the gunsmith setup a non-adjustable stock, remove the flash hider, and otherwise make it MA-happy, and then transfer it in? Or am I just out of luck? Thanks! Devon |

My understanding of Massachusetts law is that if it's a post-ban lower, it'll have to be neutered of certain features. I think you also need an LTC to take possession.
However, I'm not a resident, and I've never been able to get an exact answer on the issue. My first instinct was to move this to the rifle section, as they might be of help, but I'm going to leave it here to see if anyone better acquainted with Massachusetts law wants to chime in.

Thanks Tom! I have a Class A LTC so that's not a problem. It would be a post-ban lower, so I think I can't have an adjustable stock, bayonet mount, or flash hider. I'm just wondering if I get the gun fixed up in NH and then transfer it in state, or if it's more complex than that...
Hopefully I'm not the first MA resident to want to buy a new AR that isn't' available from the factory in a MA-compliant trim. Thanks again! Devon |
