sorry for so many threads lately... Redfield blind screw rings ???

I'm re-doing a bunch of my scopes & mounts right now...

I have a Redfield base, that has a turn in front ring, & windage adjustable rear ring, that has the screws on the bottom, instead of the top... these give a very clean look... they are a pain to install & adjust correctly, but once installed, they are as solid as any...

I've never seen any like this before... were they common??? are they desirable ??? they do give a very clean look... I kinda like the ease of screws on top, but this is on a custom 25-06 built in the 70's on a 03-A3, with a nice tiger stripe walnut stock, so I don't know if I'll put them on my gun show table, or keep them on the rifle... just trying to learn more...

I have a few sets of the older Redfield rings that screw in from the bottom too, all the ones I've seen in the last 15 years screw in from the top of the rings.
