What do you do in South Dakota in the winter

What do you do when it's too cold to shoot, too much ice to take the horses into the high country. I keep busy making leather gear, holsters and belts.

Ruger Old Army

Colt Pocket

Remington NMA

And the list goes on. Keeps me busy as long as there is snow on the ground.

Nice work, here's what my kin folk on the Bohunk side of the family do in the N. Dakota winter, they make more kin folk.

Don't know about -60, but I do know that I don't shoot at -38. Winter is time to build holsters. My shop is warmer that the house.

Very nice work! I especially like the slim jim for the old army. And thank you for the link the other day. I picked up some french curves and intend on spending more time on the edges on my current project. Thanks again!

OK, here's a proto-type of a traditional style Calif. Slim Jim with sewn in toe plug for the Ruger Old Army. This probably will not become a production piece since it takes about 25% longer to make due to the toe plug. Still a fun project.

Almost Speechless

Little I can say that has not been said. Picture 3 would be what a retiring British officer would buy. Bullet loops are slow and tricky at times. A bullet pouch would finish it of lovely.

My product line is already too big for an old retired guy. Great idea, but for someone else to do.
