rifle cases ?

Do you guys like the soft cases or hard cases ? Hard cases I am talking about are like the inexpensive Flambeau type ?

I use both. When going to the range, I generally use only hard cases. I usually have several rifles at a time at the range and having the unused rifle in a hard case just makes sense. However, when going hunting I only use soft cases. They fit much better into the back seat of a truck along with all the other gear. When empty, all the various cases used by the people on the hunt just pile up on the floorboard.

It all depends on whether I'm around the cased rifle or not. When I'm on an out of state hunt where the rifle is out of my sight, it's locked in a hard case. When I'm tooling around in my car looking for groundhogs to kill or if I'm doing some range work at my gun club I use the soft cases.

The advice above is just what I do. My hard case is an SKS (I think that's the spelling), and I'm really pleased with it.

I also use both. I like my hard cases as they offer more protection but soft cases are better when space is a concern.

I like soft cases for rifles. And hard cases for guitars.
My only explanation is that I guess I think that guitars are delicate and need the hard shell case, but that rifles are sturdier, and can suffer the bumping and crunching of a soft case.
And having cars with trunks also helps.
However, if I ever take a motorcycle trip with a rifle, I guess I will have to get a hard case.
And put a "Gibson" logo on it.
Well no, then it would get stolen. Harmony. That will be the logo.
