MOSS. 590A1, Heatshield and other Q's???

hi, just finally decided to get the Moss. 590A1 and asked my dealer to order 1 for me but he couldn't tell me if it came with a heatshield or not, does anyone know??
also i got it for $399, is that a good price???
what's the diference between the 590A1 #51663(what i ordered) compared to #51411??
I know one is 6 shot vs 9 shots...

Apparently the 590A1 does not come with a heat shield as standard equipment.

The 51411 has 18 1/2" barrel with standard bead sight, 6 shot capacity, synthetic stock.

The 51633 has a 20" barrel with Ghost ring sights and an "accessory lug"??, 9 shot capacity, synthetic stock,

How good a price you got depends on which model you bought.

List prices are:
51411 $443.00
51633 $558.00

I seem to remember that the A1 model has a heavy barrel (thicker) than the standard 590 model. You could probably modify a heatshield to fit, but I don't think Mossberg makes a H/S for the A1. Hope that helps.

Unless Mossberg changed their specifications, the #51660, (20", 590A1, w/bead sight) comes with the heatshield.

Mossberg's offerings have changed over the years. They used to have a 20", bead-sighted model with Speedfeed (ammo in stock) 590A1, but don't anymore.

590A1 Specs

You will love the 590A1, I have had one for about a year now. The model that you ordered (I'm pretty sure) is a 20" barrel, 9 shot and is all steel. This is the same shotgun that is issued throughout the Marine Corp and has a steel trigger guard assembly, not cheap plastic. The barrel is also heavier than the standard barrel, and it includes a bayonet/ accesory lug along with ghost ring sights. I added the ATI collapsible stock, and now I have what I feel to be the ultimate house gun. You will enjoy!

Posted this not to long ago but,I recently purchased a heat shield for my Mossy too. The other brands tend to have an unusual line threw them so I found these which are actually made by Mossberg and come from the factory with a small spacer as well to make sure the heatshield doesn't slide.

Blued

Parkerized

Marine Coat
