I've got an Encore BP .50 caliber barrel, a blue Ruger Old Army bicentennial, and a Thompson-Center Hawken .50 Caliber. So I guess I can post in here with you BP guys.

Heres one of me from an old 'scariest looking handgun' thread. I'm pointing my nickel, 3.5" S&W Model of 1950 357 Magnum.

It really doesn't look very scary too me. I can see why N-frames can handle the hottest .357 loads though, with all that cylinder meat.

Below is a pic of my Hawken. I'm terrible at taking long arm pics, I'd like to post pics of my custom rifles and old Winchesters, but my pics don't do them justice. I guess I'm going to have to find the time to shoot some pics outdoors with natural light.

BP or Doctor D...

Did you see the thread about that odd mark on the trigger guard of a revolver which had us baffled?

This is one for you.

The "OP" is "mforster" and the title of the post is 1860 Army Markings from 27 Jan.

On the trigger guard right next to the trigger is a mark that looks a good bit like a branch or a palm (but not like the Palmetto palm tree at all) or the head of a stalk of wheat.

We were hoping you might tell us what it is and who it denotes.

Fingers,

That is an awesome pic. And some awesome attire! Just where would I get a hat like that. I don't shoot in any matches but I need to dress the part when I take the smoke poles out to the range. That and I would wear a hat like that everywhere.

Deerslayer. The hat is a Beaver Brand. There are a number of western outfitters that carry them.

Here's just one: http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...91&FORM=IDFRIR

Google Beaver Brand Hats & havefun.
