Red Dot Optic for Remington 721

Hi Guys,
I have a Remington Model 721 that has been tapped for a scope. I am wondering what your opinion is on the best red-dot optic for, say, $50-$100.

Interested in your experiences - what to consider and what to stay away from.

Don't need really high end... just something that is reliable and decent.
Thanks for your opinions.

I've started using a TruGlo TruBrite Open Dot red dot sight on my .30-06, and love it.

Mine is the model with 4 different reticles ( fine or coarse dot & fine or coarse circled dot) in two colors (red or green), chosen via a rotary switch on the side. the intensity has 5 settings, set by a slide underneath.
It has built-in Weaver-type claws.

This sight was $99 @ Dick's Sporting Goods - but a single-reticle version is also available for half the $$$.
MidwayUSA was cheaper ($80), but is out-of-stock.
