I would imagine Walmart has automated ordering based on store sales. Basically the employees don't really order any product. They just put out whatever they are sent.

Thinking their store supply system is just like BestBuy. The employees have no idea what they are going to get until the trucks arrive.

I just bought 1000 rounds of Winchester white box 115 grain 9 mm ammo at Walmart for $261. They have no idea what they are getting until it arrives. The counter guy told me that Winchester and Remington advised Walmart they are going to be able to keep up with the demand. Now if I can only find some 22 Long rifle ammo!

I'm stopping by WM in the morning. If they restock overnight, I'm one of the first ones in.

IT Worked... The 2nd WM I stopped @ on the way in had gotten 1 case of 9mm (PPU?) I picked up 4 boxes.

Obama said nothing about anything in regards to Ammo. Now Obama will sign 23 executive orders, he only spoke of a few. So Ammo. could be in one of the ones he did not discuss today. So we still need to get a full report.

Walmart has just blocked all ammunition sales today, even what have left in stock - at least in our neck of the woods that is.

They re-stocked on of the Walmarts in my area. I went first thing this morning and they still had 22lr and 9mm. A friend told me they had 223 last night but it was all gone by this morning when I got there.

Our wally world was restocking last night from a pile of mixed ammo that amounted to about a level short bed truck load. Prices are the same as they were last year too.

My comment on the previous 40 S&W dig. Make fun a bit if you want but I can at least still buy ammo for my CCW

Walmart shelves have been cleared of 9mm near me for 2 weeks; hope it's a different story when I stop by on Monday. No one around here is even close on price.

My local Walmart's prices haven't gone up but they are still sold out of just about all handgun ammunition. They have plenty of 7.62X39 in stock oddly enough though.

I was at Gander Mountain just north of Madison Wisconsin on Friday. They had a LOT of ammunition. There were extra display tables set up with quite a bit of WWB in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP. There was another table with larger boxes of UMC in 9mm and .45 ACP. The regular shelves were quite well stocked with pistol and rifle ammunition. The only ammo I could see they were out of was 7.62x39, with 7.62x54 being close behind with only 4 boxes left.

They had no 25 round magazines for my 10/22, and there were no ARs anywhere to be seen. The pistol cases were full and it looked to me like the prices were the same as they were when I stopped to look around before Christmas.

Down the road at Farm and Fleet the shelves were a lot more bare. No 9mm or .45 ACP, or 7.62x39, or .223 at all. There was about 50 boxes of .40 S&W, and at least that many of .44 Magnum, with 4 boxes of .380.

Both places have quite the stock of shotgun ammunition. It would seem that the weapon to buy right now for home defense would be a shotgun since the ammo is very readily available.

Farm, Gander, Wally

Madison Farm and Fleet has bare shelves. The pile of 40s&w does stick out. The price has gone up quite a bit. About $44/100 right now. Seven years ago, it was about $24.

The Walmart has a good selection of 9mm, 40 and 45ACP, I got the 40 of course. Now that is the only stuff available.

I live by Gander. I don't look at their ammo prices as I'm afraid I'll go blind.

Excellent selection of ammo though. Gun counter must be 100 yards long.
