Anything wrong with my Blackhawk? (picture heavy)
Howdy,
Long story short, I traded a Smith and Wesson 66-1 K-frame .357 Magnum for a Ruger Blackhawk Stainless .357 Magnum (made in the same year as the S&W ). Like all new guns that enter my house, I religiously strip them down as far as I can go and give them a good cleaning. This Ruger looked nice on the outside but needed some TLC in the inside. Upon my cleaning I noticed that around the area of the loading gate that there looked to be a almost chunk of metal missing. Here are the pictures of the area that I was talking about; So the question is; is this alright for my Blackhawk or did I get hosed? Thanks guys. I am not sure what you are looking at, but if it is that hole where the loading gate goes, it is for the loading gate spring, and yes, it's normal.

Looks fine to me. Rugers are workhorses but you don't buy them expecting perfect fit and finish.

They milled a little too deep, but it shouldn't be an issue.
If you don't like it, send a few photos to Ruger.

Well that's good guys. I could careless about the looks as I just want the functionality to be correct; I just did not want a frag grenade in my hands.

OK, thanks for marking the pics. I agree with the others that there is no problem.
