A productive week

This week was pretty productive for reloading, at least for me. I was able to get some done and even put some on the shelf for later.

.357 Mag. 100
.38 Special 500
.45 acp 550
9 mm 600

I got them done in 4 evenings. I was not using a single stage for this. I still have a few hundred .45 cases needing a refill, not to mention a few thousand 9 mm cases.

How about you? Did anyone else get lucky and have a productive week?

Not quite like that, but I did get some much needed work done. Tumbled 3000 9mm cases. Sorted through all 3000 into their respective headstamps. Then I trimmed, primed and filled about 600 for next months Steel Challenge and IDPA comps.

I took a break from the actual reloading process, but did manage to get all my 700 .45 ACP and about 200 .357 Mag cases cleaned.

I have about 45 cases of .270 ready to be reloaded, just sitting on the bench with the primers, powder and bullets.

Went to Sierra Bullets Monday and picked up 20 pounds of 185 JHP bullets. (They had the 230 grain bullets last week, but as usual, I missed them!)

Replaced the media in my tumbler, first time in 3 years.

Now, according to Auntie Buck, I need to clean my room.

Went shooting at the gravel pit and picked up a mother lode of first firing LC 5.56 brass (400 cases) and 200 9mm cases. Got the brass cleaned, sized, swaged and trimmed. Plus, emptied a couple hundred of my own .223 cases and got rid of several more Berdan primed .30-06 rounds. Really liking my 75 gr Hornady BTHP .223 handloads!

If I can work outside, I need to work outside. There's always more to do than I can keep up with.

Reloading is for when it's raining. Or after dark if I'm not too tired or if I'm not spending time with my wife.

So over the last two weeks, I managed to reload 380 .40 S&W rounds. I need more primers and bullets. I'll probably switch over to .223 REM for a while.

Even my worst weeks ...are great man ...!!

Let's see....this week, I loaded:

12ga 1oz of 8's 500 shells ( 20 boxes ) - a months worth
.410 shothells 1/2 oz of 9's ... 250 shells ( 10 boxes ) - a months worth

.357 mag ( 158 gr ) ... 1,000 rds ...20 boxes...about 2 months worth

setting up the press tonite to run some 9mm ( I'm down to about 16 boxes ...) ...and I will shoot 8 boxes this week. So I need to lay in some inventory. I'll crank out about 40 boxes or 2,000 rds in 3 or 4 hrs pretty easily.

I don't come close to doing 400 rounds an hour even with 9 mm. The press is designed to do it. I know I'm not all that fast, but just getting the time to relax and reload is time well spent to me. At least I'm down to only needing to clean a few hundred more cases to be able to say all my brass is finally cleaned.

I wish I could spend several hours a week just reloading. It is a bit hard paying for all the components, if I could load as much as I would like to. It does feel good to just grab what you think you might like to shoot off the shelf for each range trip. When I do that I'm not thinking about the cost, just the fun. Cost only seems to come into play when I am placing yet another order to keep the components replenished. I hope another good reloading week comes again soon. So far this week I haven't loaded a thing.

Reloaded 100 44 mag and 10 rounds 308. Developing first load so I have to wait until it stops raining before I can load some more.

Not a bad week, but I only had enough supplies left for just shy of a couple of hours reload therapy.

Certainly! Got it at Sams Club. Very heavy duty, with 2" butcher block top. Went ahead and got the matching tool box with 1" butcher block top that slides underneath.

I was not as productive as the others, but I did this 100 times.

I had to made a die, with a 20 degree shoulder and a .299" neck.
