Project video titles on youtube

i tend to name my guns , this ar15 had me scratching my head with its ability to modulate between calibers so i decided to be funny on the TM15 build title

i will set the videos as TM15( WM , BW, )and AR15 DS with caliber, and vid#

i plan to setup video titles and project titles under different names for different builds

For TM lower ar15
-5.56 Build : Widow Maker
-300 blackout: Black Widow

For Next lower build
-7.62x39 : death stalker
im trying to make this one a partner to the spider upper on tm15 so going with a scorpion theme on this build

was looking into the Leiurus quinquestriatus scorpion that can be found in North Africa and the Middle East. It is known as the “death stalker” or “yellow scorpion,” as i plan to make that ar15 all desert tan with black accents , i feel its a worthy title

So currently i have a CAA CSBM (milspec) stock in route, next is a tan cheek riser

talking to a local artist and may add a red hour glass on the lower receiver to go with this widow theme im trying out

Venom Tactical offset irons (ghost and peep sites) on the way also

also working on some Project banners for videos , hopefully i can add these into the video

offsets installed No issue

Installed the Venom Tactical Offset irons (thats what they are labeled as anyway)

they actually look well made, all things considered i think they are a rebranded cobra tactical offsets. but if they get the job done then OK

im also reconsidering my Rainer raptor

with the BCG assist and offset irons on the right side its kind of a pain to do the two finger method, and the left side is small

i will go with a fortis HAMMER , most likely the nickle plated one , but i will get the black for the 300 build

the second upper build

looking for a base upper for my 7.62x39 and blackout uppers

Currently im looking at scorpion tactical as they make a NIB receiver set or i could get the normal forged black and have WMD NIB the inside of the uppers for higher performance

i plan to make the Blackout all black and the 7.62x39 a desert color scheme

Hammer and stock in route

So Fortis Hammer NIB is in route , the stock should be here in a day or so

also installed my custom dust cover

it was supposed to have the spide lasering on both sides

but it has
"YOUR ******"
on the inside of the cover

was not expecting that ....

looks nice though

{Edit: Sorry. It's funny to see, but that second photo is incompatible with the forum's family friendly policy.}

CAA stock added

so pulled off the MOE stock and put on my CBSM from CAA

I like the length and feel of the stock. also i dont need the cheek riser as the stock is at proper length for my mounts height. I'll probably just get the extra magazine attachment for the side rail

The Fortis hammer Nicklide coated is still in the mail

Once i get that charge handle on, I will then do the videos (separately ) on the parts and how they function, Pro and cons and my take on them k

(CAA Milspec CBSM)

thanks

took it out to the range FAIL

sadly the Feed issues persist, actually id say it worsened. i switched the upper onto another ar15 to test if it was the buffer system and still issues

so i now will be swapping out the upper receiver for either a TM upper and another 20" barrel. as the current barrel when swapped onto another upper has feed issues as well

so the end result is

SPIKE upper fail in feed ramps

REDXARMS 20" barrel catches bullet tip and caused a feed issue as well

So I'm returning my redxarms barrel to brownells.

I may be picking up a 300. Match Wilson combat barrel to replace it. It's a scout barrel so heavier than a standard, but lighter than an hbar. Should provide good shooting as it's Wilson combat .

My father just finished his build of 223 wylde. We zerod it fast and easy. My gun was just misbehaving. So new tm upper and Wilson barrel hopefully soon. And then play time

I still plan to build a 556 UPPER and a 7.62x39 as well.
But for now, I have built one with my dad. And now I'm doing a few builds for friends. So blackout may be it for a while

If there wias really a problem with the Spike's upper, they would have swapped it out. Best CS in the industry.

actually they stated i had to buy another upper from them for 108$ ,after trying out a NEW spikes upper , they would then warranty the OLD upper for 108 dollars and i had to send that one in and to get re-machined

So,in the end id have to buy TWO spikes uppers and have possibly the same issue 214$ (NO thanks , id just buy a NIBX WMD for less than this hassle and cost)

my customer service contact, was polite and nice BUT, he would go a week or two between emails , i then was swapped to a women who basically stated the above context if i wanted my upper warrantied. i had videos and pictures sent to spikes showing the comparison of BAD ramps vs the good machined on aero precision i was using in another build.

SO no , i like spikes products(i have a entire spikes buffer system milspec). but i wont trust them or use the products again

i bought the upper when they were churning out a bad upper batch, a few other case were noted around the same time, but i did not try mine till later date(rifle completed)

Also
my initial correct feeding of my ar15 was due to using the longer Green tipped ammo , which fed over the issue feed ramps into the barrel directly. (i used the dummy rounds to test this theory)

using an aero precision upper from another build for a friend , i had feed corrected until it hit the barrel and would (catch) on the redx arms barrels(using standard surplus military 556)

now redx barrels are good basic barrels from what ive seen. but the inside needs some polishing, as the barrel has some grit to it still from the CNC machining

so the combination of the redx grit and spikes bad ramps caused feed issues, i brought this to my local range and gunsmith to confirm and had others try the parts and the same results happened

update on parts

So.....far

Widow's spikes upper is torn apart(scraping the spikes upper)

taking the BCG assist and the door (laser spider marks) for new upper

ive got my wilson combat barrel (looking nice)

im pondering getting their adjustable gas block... i wouldn't mind shooting some non super sonic rounds

also...
ordered a Tactical Machining upper (engraved) t-marks (85$)

also a panther arms carbine gas tube (12$)

now all thats left

the break.....

looking at a few, the best that i could see in terms of result is the LANTAC dragon

Lantac dragon on the way 300 aac project close to completion

so all parts should be in by next week, ill probably go shooting if ammo arrives by then.

also might bring the mosin BL out for some fun , shes been collecting dust and needs some exercise

so once thats done i have 2 friends ar15's to build (two 556 ar15s, one for home def, one for target shooting)

after this i may take a break with the ar15 (still working some product designs)

and start a 1911 build

WILSON COMBAT BARREL

so got the following today
ar15
-lantac dragon,
-wtg phase 5

Mosin
from RSI
-mosin bedding pillars
-trigger shoe

im starting a Firearms youtube channel: DrkDragon
this started as a idea as some members noted i do other topic videos on my Eternaldrkmako channel, and stated a firearms only channel would be easier to follow and more useful for reference. so i agree and have made this split-off channel which will now host my gun videos

LANTAC DRAGON issue

so when installing the lantac dragon i used the torque wrench at 20 lbs(as stated) the dragons top holes ended up 45 degrees off and now if i loosen to 12 o'clock for these top holes its to loose

-so ordered a pair of shims which should hopefully correct the issue and allow for safe use of the firearm

-comes with Frog Lube (smells MINTY when used?)

the Tactical Machining upper is NICE, the coating for the upper is slick and non reflective, and the inside is prelubed

so swapped parts from the spikes onto this TM upper, also fits nice to the lower.

with everything on the rifle and the new break SEMI installed, looks very aggressive. hoping i can get things done to go shoot it soon

Lantac called me this morning (yay?)

saying thanks for being the first customer to send pics of this side angled break issue

the customer service was very nice(sounded British...?)

state that using a spacer is the best bet as the crush washer expanded to much to be removed without damaging threads. so ordered 6 spacers to hopefully fix this.

got some fun gorilla ammo in route so hopes for next weekend shooting the blackout

300 Blackout "widow" Complete

attached the hogue grip, and the ACP from CAA
they all work awesome, and i had a great shoot sunday
Gorilla Ammo
-19$ varmegedon
-25$ controlled chaos

i started zeroing at 50 yards(initial shots were so right it shot through my middle target while aiming at top left so center target was neglagable, progressed to 100, the shot the chaos bullets and 4 shots in the same hole later i was impressed. had 2 bullets fail to eject but that was in the initial 2 shots. overall im very impressed with gorilla ammo.

there is splatter on my last 4 shots due to a 338 firing Fletcher rounds next my target that fracture on impact .....

after the CC did so well i began shooting at a 200 and 300 yard plates and hit them center mark after adjusting the battle zone to the respective range marks on the turrents.

overall im impressed with 300 aac, and i found it to be very accurate in the wilson combat match 1-8 twist barrel 16"

50yard zero - 1 inch high zero Varmegedon

50 yard shot stayed very similar with the 300 varmigedon

100 yard Varmegedon

100 yards CC 4 shots fired , 1 hole (and 338 flechets circled )
