Fore end question on my 870 rem.
I have developed arthritis in my hands and have a hard time gripping the fore end of my 870 pump. I would like to put a strap on the under side of the fore end that I could slip my hand into.
Any ideas? Thanks. |

Purchase a cheap sling (or, perhaps, any 1" - 1 1/4" wide piece of nylon webbing). Cut off a small piece and attach one end to the front attachment point of the gun, as you normally would. Fold the other (cut) end over and sew it on to form a loop. That should do it.

Google 870 fore end strap and you will get some pretty deailed instructions how to fasten a strap to yours. Another option is to get a pistol grip fore end like the old Tommy Guns. Is your for end wood or synthetic?

The reason I asked if you had wood or synthetic is it may be easier to screw into wood. Here is a commercial plastic forend with a strap. http://www.tapco.com/products/images...K55301_AV1.jpg
I like the one shown in the bottom photo here. The guy did attached his strap. http://www.rem870.com/2009/11/13/rem...comp_follower/ Quote:
It's going to cost more, but maybe you should go to a semi. Last edited by TheKlawMan; November 25, 2011 at 03:17 AM. |

Thank you for your responses. My friend made one for himself out of a nylon strap and it's looks professional. He said he would make one for me. How lucky can a guy get.
Thanks again. |
