Camp 45 won't fire
Hi all. New guy here. Just changed recoil spring in my recently purchased Camp 45 to a Wolff 21lb. All went well. I did cock the trigger before reassembly. Seemed like it made it easier to reassemble at the time. That's all I did with trigger assembly. Now it will not come off the cock position. Took trigger group back out and I cannot figure how to pull the trigger even when it's out of the receiver! It's like it's on safety whether the safety is on safe or fire. Really hoped to try out the new spring this weekend. Gotta be somethin dumb, simple, ect. Any one out there who knows proper reassembly that good offer a clue as to what I might have done wrong and how to correct?

The Camp 45 has a magazine safety. You have to put an empty magazine in before the trigger will operate, even if it's unloaded.

Thanks Ledbetter for prompt reply.
Yes indeed it does have mag safety and that's was my first move but as I sit here with the trigger group out of the receiver in my hand with the Marlin Mag in the trigger group and safety clearly on "F" the trigger will not release the hammer! So still puzzled. Also I wonder what the lever behind the mag release button is for. |

Ledbtter. Hold the phone. Just got the trigger to release the hammer by pressing on the springed lever next to the hammer with a narrow punch. I had pressed on it with my finger while pressing the trigger buncha times with no luck. Needed to depress further so the punch did the trick. Will reassemble with trigger uncocked and see if that solves the problem. Reassembled and it works fine. Leave it to me to over complicate a simple operation.
