Hog gun project....

Remington 7400....308 cal....
First removed sights...
Cut and crowned barrel..16.5 in...
Replaced stock with a lightweight synthetic...
Added picatinny mount and steel rings...
Nikon scope...

Looks very nice. How will that affect recoil with a shorter barrel?

Thanks..I'm sure there will be a lil more recoil..not much....I have a 742 carbine in 30-06....It has an 18 in barrel....The recoil is very minimal....This one being 308..I think would be no problem....

Please update with a range report as i'm wondering how the shorter barrel will affect gas pressure going to the action and what results from it.

Smoky...I will give a range report..but I have 2 buds that did this same conversion in their rifles..only they were 742's in 30-06....They hog hunt with them and are very pleased....
