constraints when loading for a titanium .44 mag?
Is anyone aware of any special constraints when loading for a titanium .44 mag? No reloading manuals note anything unusual about the pistol construction. It is my anti bear device here in Alaska so I'll be shooting 310 gr cast bullets if they'll fit.

A couple do come to mind...
1. Heavier bullets may want to jump crimp. That's been a problem with the S&W 296 and 396 lightweight .44 Special revolvers, and is why they're marked on the barrels to use 200gr or lighter bullets. You're running a .44 Magnum, which will be even more snappy in the recoil department.
2. You might be able to get away with a heavier bullet assuming you use a serious crimp. 3. Check your cylinder length. Hopefully the 310gr cast bullets will fit without intruding too much into the powder capacity. |

I haven't bought any dies yet for the .44. Are there any that crimp better than others?

I dont have any complaints with my RCBS. Seems to be trouble free crimping...
