Appropriate Guns and Training in latest ACLDN Journal

I am the featured interviewee in the latest edition of the Armed Citizens' Legal Defense Network Journal. The topic is Appropriate Guns and Training.

Excellent work

I read your main article and found it spot on. Also, thanks for the heads up on the journal itself. As a firearms instuctor, I too was faced with a few new hires with hands so small that they couldn't manage any service pistol, including the Glock 19, not exactly a large pistol when compared to either a SIG 226 or an S&W M&P 45.

Although the .380 ACP is much maligned and poo-pooed in the various forums, it's encouraging to note that the companies making concealable pistols in this caliber can't make them fast enough.

According to the ATF Annual Firearms Manufacturers And Export Report, in 2010 Ruger's production of the LCP (255,789) represented 54% of their total handgun production and 68% of their centerfire handgun production. In 2009, LCP production (198,844) was 62% of centerfire handgun production. I wouldn't be surprised that the LCP demand is the reason Ruger has stopped taking orders from distributors until its backlog is cleared.

Average people pick pistols that fit their lifestyles and routinely ignore the "expert" advice they receive in gun rags and on the errornet. "Dress around the gun" doesn't even cross their minds.
