fnx problem

just acquired new fn fnx pistol. basic field stripping for cleaning was first step once got it. but...following drill of locking slide over empty magazine well, releasing the takedown lever, and dropping slide lock to remove slide...does not work! slide will not budge more than about 1/16th inch or so...??? any suggestions? thanks.

disassembly problem with FNX

finally got it..appears to be hanging up on sear a bit.
seems to work best when deock or pull trigger as release slide to remove it, but still a bit bound up..yet, no apparent damage done. perhaps will smooth out or I will develop drill better...sort of like learning to tickle carbs and use the kicker on a norton commando...

I think that once you ge it figured out, you'll really appreciate the FNX. Friend of mine has the FNP9, firing and field stripping it is an absolute treat

I checked mine, when i pull the slide back and rotate the takedown lever and release the slide mine comes right off. So my guess is that your gun either has a little burr or something that is catching. Give it a while i bet it will smooth out, my gun has been great. Never a jam in over 1000 rounds so far.

Yeah, except your fnx won't throw you over the handlebars if if backfires, although it might leak all the oil out if you leave it outside all night.
