Who ownes which powder manufacturer?

I don't know them all but Hodgdon owns Hodgdon, IMR and Winchester.

OK, so here is a stupid side question...Who is Olin? and do I recall correctly seeing that some Winchester was loaded in Isreal? or was that just some guy that was mistaken?

The IMR company owns IMR.

ASAIK, Hodgdon doesn't manufacture any powder or own any conpany that does. They but from powder manufacturers all over the world.

But when they put out a spec for bid, it's pretty specific. when you get a can of HS-6, it's the same powder whether it was manufactured by W-W, IMI or somebody in Uganda.

Hodgdon did indeed buy IMR a while back. As mentioned, they bought the rights to sell Winchester powder. Many Hodgdon and Winchester powders are made by Primex.

Western Powder Co. owns Ramshot and Accurate powders.

A lot of Hodgdon powder is from ADI (Australian Defense, Australia)

Hodgdon bought IMR Powder Co., Inc. of New York. They did not get the IMR factory which is run by Expro in Canada.
Likewise, they took over the distributorship of Winchester Ball powders but they did not acquire the factory in St Marks, Florida which has at different times been owned by Olin, operated independently as Primex, and is now a subsidiary of General Dynamics.

Hodgdon "Spherical" brand powders are made in St Marks and "Extreme." brand in Australia by ADI.

Hodgdon makes Pyrodex and 777 black powder substitutes and that is all.
