Scouting
Headed out this afternoon to glass some field edges. I went last week and did some early walking around to see if any bucks had been removing velvet yet.
I figure ill put the truck on a edge and sit in the back with the bino's till dusk. Any of you guys hitting the woods? seen and bucks yet?

Waiting for Eglin AFB to start selling passes so I can hit the woods. So this is the first year in many that I am going to actually hunt the prey rather than target of opportunity shooting. I am just going to locate some heavily traveled game trails in the most forbidding locations to avoid other hunters. I am after swamp bucks for the most part.

I saw 6 bucks yesterday, 2 of them were in full velvet without a trace of velvet removal on them. The other 4, had completely shed their velvet.
All of these bucks were within 20 miles of each other. |

We spotted a three point bull elk after sighting the rifle, stood broad side at 200 yards away. Found three black bears in the area, hopefully they stick around for another two weeks when the season opens
